Notes
Alleluia! He is risen! He is risen indeed! Have you taken time to reflect on the true
meaning of this day? Have you seriously
thought about our Lord’s resurrection and what that means for you and your
future? Easter celebrates that our
heavenly Father has kept His word. He
promised to send a Savior to save the world, and He did it! He promised that our Savior, His Son, would
die so that you and I would be forgiven, and He did it! And He promised that Jesus Christ, our Lord,
would rise victorious from the dead, having conquered Satan, death, and the
world. And He did it!
On
a smaller note, I will be gone on Monday and Tuesday. I am part of an accreditation team visiting
St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Napoleon, Ohio.

Classroom information
Mrs. Schulte (Pre-2)
We welcomed the
children back after Spring Break to celebrate our theme, "Seeing Seeds
Grow". We planted seeds for our window greenhouse, decorated a
little flower pot to look like a silly face and planted grass seeds to grow
like hair. In Sensory Play we mixed shaving cream and tiny seeds (messy
but fun!). We filled our Letter S with seeds. We sorted seeds by
shape, color, and size. At Storytime, we shared the book "The Tiny
Seed" by Eric Carle. During Bible time, we shared the story of
"Jesus Appears to the Disciples".
Mrs. Frey (Pre-3,4)
Preschool
is learning letter U for umbrella as we focus on weather this week! We will
create projects relating to rain, clouds, wind, and rainbows. We will answer
the question: How do rainbows form? We are excited to be back from Spring
break! In Bible Time we will hear about some of Jesus’ last days on Earth
before he returns to His Father in heaven. 3’s will hear about Jesus’ reveal to
His disciples as He cooks them breakfast. 4’s will hear about Jesus’ reveal to
two disciples on the road to Emmaus. He is risen!
Mrs.
Reynolds (PK)
Pre-K is excited to be back after our
week off for spring break! We will be starting the week by taking a trip to the
Milford Library to learn about what happens at a library and what a valuable
resource a library can be. We love books and it is great to see young
children so excited about reading. In class this week we will be learning about
the letter "E" for Earth and Space. We will be making
planets from coffee filters, making rockets with our names on them, flour paint
moons and make constellations of our own. We will also be exploring what its
like to walk on the moon and have a tinfoil "moon rock' fight in the
classroom. It is sure to be a fun week in Pre-k!
Mrs.
Sherman (K)
With the
arrival of spring, Kindergarten begins a study of plants. They will
create a sunflower and label its parts. They will list items found
in a garden and write about a mystery seed. During math, the class will
add the room and divide objects into equal groups. They will also review
coins and time. At Bible time, the class focuses on the resurrection ~
Jesus is alive! They will hear that Jesus appeared to several people who
then shared the Good News. The full day students will play addition bump,
cover it and Kindergarten yahtzee during math. They will begin a study of
pond life and learn how frogs change.
Mrs.
Reisenbichler (1-2)
Spring break
was refreshing for the children and teacher. Now that we are
refreshed, we have the privilege of celebrating the resurrection and learning
more about the victory won for us over sin, death, and the devil. In
math this week the second graders worked with making change, and the first
graders worked with using a counting chart to help them add large
numbers. A STEM project is also being started this
week. The children worked with bio mimicry in designing and making
bird nests. The first graders made posters inviting others to their
pet show on Friday. We also started building a community out of milk
cartons. It was a busy week.
Mrs. Mayo (3-4)
In religion we will start the week
reviewing the events of the Resurrection and finish the week learning about
David and Bathsheba. In reading we will begin the book, The Missing
'Gator of Gumbo Limbo. In grammar we will be working with
nouns. In math the 3rd graders will work with measurement and multiplying
and dividing money. The 4th graders will be working with area of
different polygons. In social studies we will learn about Ohio inventors.
Mr.
Postenrieder (5-6)
In
our Bible time this week we looked at confession or excuses. In 5th
grade math we worked with the area of rectangles and triangles. In 6th grade math we worked with
proportions and order of operations. We will take our Pre-Test 16 on Friday. In
our Language Arts time we take a selection test on our story, “Nadia the
Willful.” We also worked on our writing
skills by crafting a story about the life of a gum ball. In Social Studies we
looked at the countries of Southern Asia. In Science we continued our study of
plate tectonics. In Spelling we studied the word elements: micro-, mega-, and
hyper-.
Mr. Reisenbichler (7-8)
In religion we will continue our study
of Easter. In 7th grade math the
students are studying the probability of dependent events and calculating the
volume of right solids. In 8th grade math we are graphing
pairs of inequalities calculating the slant height of pyramids and cones. In science we are learning about the periodic
table. The students are building bridges
in STEM.
