We will share
our band accomplishments this year with a concert on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:30

the band students. In addition, those 4th grade students
interested in participating in band for next school year will have an
opportunity to try and be fitted for a band instrument following the concert.
Tuition for May
All tuition payments must be paid by

results are known.

Classroom information
Mrs. Frey (P-3 & P-4)
Preschool
is learning letter R for recycle. We will discuss the 3R’s: reduce, reuse,
recycle. 3’s will create binoculars out of paper towel tubes. 4’s will create
kazoos with paper towel tubes and waxed paper. Both classes will read The
Lorax. In Bible Time both classes will learn about the gift of the Holy
Spirit at Pentecost.
Mrs.
Reynolds (PK & P-2)
This week Pre-K is learning the letter I as
we look at the theme of insects. We have our very own caterpillars in our
classroom! We are watching them grow and eventually we will watch their
transformation as they turn into butterflies. We are looking at the life-cycles
of butterflies and ladybugs this week and discussing the characteristics of
insects. In Bible we are learning about Pentecost.
Pre-2 is also
learning about Pentecost this week.We will make a
flame hat to wear and use a balloon to demonstrate how the Holy Spirit fills us
so we can go out and share the good news with others. We are learning the
letters w and X this week. we will be turning our W into a watermelon and the X
into a xylophone! In our sensory table we will be feeling bird seed and making
a tasty treat for birds!
Mrs.
Sherman (K)
Kindergarten is waiting and watching
for the caterpillars to form their chrysalises. While they wait, they
will conduct an experiment to learn how butterflies eat. At Bible time,
the class will hear the account of Jesus ascending to heaven. Earth Day is
April 22nd so the boys and girls will read about recycling and ways to care for
the earth and sort recyclables. The full day students continue to
research pond animals. They will also create recycled art and illustrate
a flip book about God's creation, "I Love the Earth!"
Mrs.
Reisenbichler (1)
This week in Jesus Time we learned
that we are not to worry. Jesus will help us with our needs when we put
our trust in Him. In math, the children continued to work with
fractions. We added sparkle to our writing by adding more
adjectives. The Plain's Indians intrigued us as we learned about their
way of life. We could see how the environment helped determine their
housing, foods, and clothing.
Miss Rhonemus (2)
Some guests from my pond have joined
the second grade classroom so that we can observe the life cycles of frogs and
toads. We are also reading about penguin chicks and the stages of their
lives. In spelling we are working on words with the "oo" sound.
Meanwhile in math we are starting a new unit that will push our money
knowledge to new levels. In social studies we learned about trade,
bartering, and why people started using currency. Seventh and eighth grade are
learning about pressure and buoyancy and will be building boats out of metallic
materials.
Mrs. Mayo (3-4)
We studied
the account of the first Pentecost this week and how the Holy Spirit empowers
us to share God's word. Along with practicing for the musical this week, we
tried to fit in the rest of our classes. In reading, took a test on Snow
Treasure. Then we read A Story, A Story, an Anansi
story. Then we discussed the pattern of the story and began writing our
own tale. In social studies we learned about Montana and Wyoming.
In science, we continued our study of animals by learning about endangered
animals. In math, the 3rd graders worked with sharing money in word
problems and continued with multiplication. The 4th graders began a
chapter about fractions, decimals, and per cents and learned how to convert one
to another.
Mr. Postenrieder (5-6)
In
our Bible time this week we continued our study of David’s life. In 5th
grade math we worked reviewed geometric solids.
In 6th grade math we worked on writing fractions and decimals
as per cents. We also reduced rates before multiplying. Wednesday and Thursday
we enjoyed our 18th test! In our Language Arts time we finished
reading Which Way Freedom? In Social
Studies we prepared and presented power points on the islands of the Caribbean.
We began to study South America. In Science we began to look at “Living
Resources.” We continued to monitor our
bluebird houses and prepared our flower garden soil for planting.
Mr. Mayo (7,8)
In History,
we’re wrapping up our study of the presidencies of Adams, Jefferson, and
Madison as well as the War of 1812. In
Literature, we continue to explore the themes of growing up and fitting in. I’ve told many classes that, “You are the
average of the five people with whom you hang around most.” Isn’t that true for adults, too?
Mr. Reisenbichler (7-8)
In religion we are discussing living
with suffering. In 7th grade
math the students are studying parts of circles and the surface area of 3D
solids. In 8th grade math, the
class is studying the metric system and solving compound average problems. The students are constructing a key ring
using a CAD program on the computer and them printing it on a 3D printer in STEM.
